How to connect the LED light string to the power supply?

With the development of society, led lights are used in more and more places, and some places need to be decorated with led light strings. When night falls at night, most of the lights in the city are LED lights, and even neon lights are flashing, and the LED light strings are also playing their role. So how to connect the LED light string to the power supply?

First. The power connection method of led light string
The general voltage of the LED light string is DC 12V, so it needs to be powered by a switching power supply. The size of the power supply is determined according to the power and connection length of the LED light string. If you don’t want to use one power supply to control each LED light string, you can buy a switching power supply with relatively high power as the total power supply, and then connect all the LED light string input power supplies in parallel (if the wire size is not enough, you can extend it additionally), Unified power supply by the general switching power supply. The advantage of this is that it can be controlled centrally. The inconvenience is that the lighting effect and switch control of a single LED light string cannot be realized. The specific method can be measured by yourself. The LED light strings I use from Zhongshan Greenman are all connected by the method of total power supply and parallel connection.

Second. How to choose led lights
1. Look at the packaging and trademarks
For a qualified and regular LED lamp, the following content will be marked on the outer packaging: rated voltage, voltage range, rated power, and rated frequency. Generally speaking, the trademarks of high-quality products have good printing quality, clear fonts, and are not easy to fall off. Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Fake and inferior products have poor printing quality, blurred fonts, easy to erase, and no manufacturer's trademark and related certification marks.

2. Look at the appearance of the LED lamp
The real LED energy-saving lamps use three-color tubes, and the tubes are white. If you cover them with your hands, they will look whiter. In addition, from the perspective of the lamp tube, you can put multiple lamps together for comparison. The lamp tubes with better shape and size consistency are mostly bent and formed by machines, which are mass-produced products. The consistency of the product is good, the quality is easier to be guaranteed, and the interchangeability during maintenance is better. Of course, there should be no signs of cracks, looseness, or prying between the interfaces on the outside. During the installation and disassembly process, the lamp head should not be loose or tilted.
The plastic shell of the lamp must choose the kind of engineering plastic flame retardant. Ordinary plastics are easily deformed and flammable, so they are prohibited from being used in the production of energy-saving lamps. The two can be easily distinguished from the surface. The surface of the latter is smooth and shiny, while the surface of the former has a texture similar to frosted glass.

3. Look at the driver
Generally, the lifespan of LED is not 50,000 hours as stated by the manufacturer, but the cross-flow driver certified by the European Union on the market can basically reach 20,000 hours. Since LED lighting-level products have only been available for 2 to 3 years, it is impossible to know that they can be used for 5 to 10 years without breaking down or fading. Therefore, most major manufacturers will provide a two-year warranty.

4. Look at the startup performance
LED energy-saving lamps have two characteristics: one is that the higher the temperature, the easier it is to start; the other is that the lights will not flash when they are turned off. In addition, it is worth mentioning that many LED energy-saving lamps are very dark when turned on, which is not good for the life of the bulb. LED energy-saving lamps should be equipped with power circuits and PCB boards inside.

5. Look at the light color
Good quality uniform light color, no color difference. For example, warm white has the same color temperature, but poor light color is not uniform. For example, although the 10 lights are all warm white, they look different, with color difference, some are yellowish, and some are light yellow or even red. In addition, a good LED has a high color rendering index, and when the light hits the object, the object will still have its original color, while a poor LED will cause the object to be discolored by the light. Simple test method: a batch of lights are lit at the same time, and there is no color difference with the naked eye.

6. Look at the temperature at work
Under normal working conditions, the temperature rise of LED energy-saving lamps should be very low. Otherwise, the life of LED energy-saving lamps is very short. At the same time, when the energy-saving lamp is lit, there is a quick flicker, or very dazzling fluctuations, all of which indicate that the energy-saving lamp has quality problems.

7. Check the interference situation
In our country, electromagnetic compatibility is already an item that electrical appliances must pass. However, the inspection of this item is very complicated. When users buy lights, they should check whether there is a mark of passing the national electromagnetic compatibility test on the package. The second is to bring a medium and short wave radio. When the lamp is working, put the radio nearby, and the radio should be medium and short wave. The lower the noise, the better the electromagnetic compatibility of the lamp under test.
